I was sold on Yeti products when I had a piping hot cup of fresh coffee that had been brewed eight hours earlier that day. So when I found this "my size" travel mug I was super stoked. I don't want to lug around 16-72oz of liquid commuting to work, and I really am tired of the convoluted mouth pieces and girthy containers that don't fit into cupholders or mesh holders on backpacks. This mug fit the bill for everything except long-lasting thermal action. I do the extra step of putting boiling water into the container for the five minutes I'm waiting on a tea/coffee brew, but the longest it kept contents at a reasonably hot level was about 1.5 hours. For my work commute, this is fine. However, it does not hold up to the same standard as the other thermal products if that is what's important to you.

I mainly bought this because... 1. I hate that Yeti's are modular and that makes them great despite the ridiculous price. 2. It's the only small tumbler I've found to fit under my k-cup "Keurig" machine (it's not actually Keurig brand - it's a "Mueller k-cup coffee maker. So your fitment may vary) 3. I don't have to look/rotate it to find the mouth/opening when driving. 4. The color is friggin awesome.

This is a solid cup. Other cups keep things very hot for longer, but this one does the job adequately. What I like best is the feature that allows it to be 'open' and drinkable from any angle, so handy when you're on the go! And yet it does seal and become leak proof when all the openings are closed, this is great for slamming it in the backpack or cup holder and now having to worry about getting spilled on. Also the thickness of the top has a great 'diner mug' type feel which I really like. I would buy again.

I got the mug for a few years now, as a mom it is easy to get side tracked, get cold tea. With Yeti my tea was hot for hours. So I got this travel mug to lugg my tea around on the go at office, best decision ever. Tea is hot for hours, fits in the car cup holder. Happy! Very easy to clean too!

After looking for quite some time and going through many other tumblers, I finally found exactly what I needed. Stainless steal ensures you can keep it clean. Keeps hot and cold temps forever. Double insulated so it doesn’t sweat. Best of all? It’s leak proof!

Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the cap is all plastic. Plastic effects the taste of hot coffee and tea, and I would like to limit my exposure to ingesting plastic particles. I would like to see them make a cap that is mostly stainless steel. The bottle keeps hot liquids hot for hours and the seal appears to be leakproof so far. I especially like that the cap disassembles fully in just a second so that it may go in the dishwasher and be cleaned fully without a risk of bacteria hiding in crevices.

Bought 5 one each for my friends. Keeps our coffee super hot. Easy to clean all the pieces.

This mug does the job it was made for well, is easy to clean, and is very rugged. Below are some of the features and a brief but accurate performance measurement. Temperature retention: Over the course of 7 hours, the temperature of the liquid inside the mug dropped by 62 degrees F. This sounds like a lot, but if you put boiling water in it (around 200 deg. F), you will have very hot (around 130 deg. F) water to drink after a full-ish work day. This is more than most people need. To test this, I filled the bottle with 12 oz water that initially measured 191 deg. F with an instant-read thermometer and then placed the lid (in closed position) onto the mug. It was kept in a room temperature environment until the next reading, when the lid was again removed. Note that the temp. drop would have been less affected if I were able to use the 'Hot Shot' cap to take the measurement, but the instant read had to be inserted into the liquid to do so. See measurements below: 0h 00min 191 deg. F 2h 00min 163 deg. F 4h 30min 143 deg. F 6h 30min 129 deg. F The biggest heat loss is though the threaded portion of the upper lip because it is a continuous piece of steel and, though vacuumed, provides more transmissibility to the outside air. Other mugs do a better job in this area but only by sacrificing durability. If this tradeoff is worth it to you, you won't mind much! Size/Weight: The mug measures almost exactly 3" in diameter straight down to the base with a height of 7.25". The lack of taper makes it less likely to tip over but also less likely to fit in your car's cupholder. In my Kia Optima, it barely fits in the center-console (it doesn't touch the bottom and is squeezed by the sides) but fits perfectly in the door. On my wife's Volvo XC60, it fits well in both. I should also note that it fits perfectly under our Nespresso Vertuo machine and an 8oz coffee + crema makes it just under the threaded lid. Wonderful! The mug + lid weigh 14.4 oz. When filled with 12 oz liquid and placed in a backpack, it'll be a 1 lb 10.4 oz drain on your shoulders... But it'll be durable! Cleaning/Assembly: The 'Hot Shot' lid is easy to remove and disassemble for cleaning. You just twist past two soft 'clicks' and it's out of the housing and ready to clean. It's also dishwasher safe and you can drink from any point on the lid, which are nice features. My only gripe with the lid is that you can't tell if it's opened or closed just by looking at it. I have gotten in the habit of just closing it every time so I know to open it before taking a sip. Yeti could fix this by putting a colored dot or notch on the inner/outer portions of the lid so that, when they line up, you are assured of it's position. Conclusion: Overall, I have been enjoying this mug a lot and hope this review helps you make the right decision. It's a solid performer, has great features, and looks more expensive than it is. Side note: This YETI Rambler was purchased for the sole purpose of keeping an 8oz Nespresso Coffee hot, and for this it is perfect. If you don't know, the Nespresso Vertuo brews coffee at a relatively low temperature because it uses centrifugal pressure to extract the magic from the beans, not boiling water. I love how it's immediately drinkable, but after 15 minutes it's not hot enough. This rambler is the perfect accompaniment for one of these machines and I highly recommend it!
